South Lalitpur Rural Electric Co-operative Ltd. (SLREC)

South Lalitpur Rural Electric Cooperative (SLREC) is a cooperative established in 1997 with the major objective to provide electricity to people living in the southern rural hilly areas of 19 VDC’s of Lalitpur district. The organization is committed to provide electricity facilities to all households without any social and economic discrimination.SLREC started providing consumer services since2061-05-02

With a mission of socio-economic development of the community through cheap, accessible and qualitative electrification and people’s participation, SLREC has been successful in coordinating with different institutions and enhancing the socio-economic development of the community. SLREC worked from 1997-2002 with the provision of 50 percent investment which was very hard to arrange from the community. SLREC worked both ways: continuation of RE extension as well as lobbying and advocacy to reduce the cash investment provision to RE program as of today.
